About Us

Dear MES Families,

Welcome to the 2016-17 school year, and to all of the exciting growth you are about to see in your child! The staff at MES is looking forward to a great school year full of hard work, meeting learning goals, and celebration of learning. I am personally looking forward to my second year at MES, the familiar and new faces, and the support of our community and parents!

During the first few weeks of school students are taught positive behavior expectations. Students and staff visit different locations at MES to learn about what expected behavior looks like. Being the MES Dolphins, we use the acronym S.W.I.M.

S - Safe Students

W - Working Responsibly

I - In Control

M - Making Good Choices

Learning the expected behaviors gives all students the opportunity for success throughout the year! Students will be recognized for their positive behavior daily by earning SWIM Tickets, and in monthly life skills assemblies. At MES we love to celebrate positive behavior and academic success.

There are many ways you can help support your child in their learning. The first is making sure that he/she is at school and on time every day possible. Students that have great attendance are much more successful than those who miss school frequently. You can also help promote academics by asking questions about what your child has learned, having them explain their homework to you, and communicating with classroom teachers frequently.

The staff at MES is dedicated to teaching your child in every way possible. We appreciate parent and community support, and welcome volunteers. If you are interested in being a part of the great happenings at MES, contact us! I look forward to another fantastic school year!

Sincerely,
Kim Seidel
